Description
The Hönes 122nu cuckoo clock puts the carved woodwork in the foreground with its walnut tint. At 20 cm, it concentrates in a small format the details that characterise Hönes carved cuckoo clocks.
A weight-driven movement
The mechanical 1-day movement runs on two pine cone-shaped weights. The chains allow them to be wound each day. The cuckoo calls once on the half hour, then indicates the number of hours on the hour.
A lever controls the night shut-off of the call while leaving the clock running. Every Hönes mechanical clock bears the VdS seal and comes with its certificate of authenticity.
The whole decoration in the carving
A carved leaf crowns the clock. Other leaves surround the case, while the lattice work frames the cuckoo door and the dial. The walnut tint underlines the different carved shapes.
The black dial with cream Roman numerals provides a clearly defined point of reading at the centre of the decoration. The Hönes logo takes the place of the XII. The carvings and the case are made by hand.
