Description
The Engstler 48114QMT cuckoo clock is one of the most spectacular in the quartz range: a 40 cm finely crafted chalet, topped with its turret, where everything comes to life every hour.
The call, the echo and twelve melodies
Born in the workshops of Engstler, this cuckoo clock runs on three batteries with a quartz movement. On every full hour, the bird comes out to announce the time, extended by an echo, then one of the twelve melodies starts to play, from the Kuckuckwalzer to Salut d'amour.
To the sound of the music, the water wheel turns, the couples of dancers come on stage on the balcony and a Black Forest woman pulls the rope, making the bell in the turret move. At night, a light sensor switches off the sound until morning.
A large chalet with a turret
The shingle roof, the turret and the walnut tint give this house the look of the great Black Forest farmhouses. Every façade teems with carved details, right up to the balcony where the dancers turn.
On these farms, the bell called those working in the fields to meals: a gesture that the figurine repeats every hour.
At 40 cm, this cuckoo clock stands out as a decorative piece on a living-room or dining-room wall. For this size, the fixing deserves a little attention: our advice on hanging it properly on the wall guides you step by step.
