Description
The Engstler 492QMT cuckoo clock is one of the most animated models in the quartz range. Every hour, the cuckoo calls, the three dancers come to life, the mill wheel turns and the drinker raises his mug to the rhythm of the melody.
An animated battery-powered cuckoo clock
Made by Engstler, this model simply runs on batteries, with a quartz mechanism and a swinging pendulum. The pine cone-shaped weights remain decorative.
On every full hour, the cuckoo comes out of its door and counts the hours, extended by an echo, then one of the twelve melodies starts: the mill wheel turns, the three dancers come to life and the drinker raises his mug. A photoelectric cell automatically switches off the chime when the room is dark.
A chalet rich in details
This 35 cm chalet, in walnut-stained wood, has a steep roof covered in shingles. Three dancers in traditional costume stand beneath the cuckoo door, on an open gallery.
On the left, the mill wheel, blue and wood, turns under its lean-to. On the right, the beer drinker sits on a bench, mug raised, a dog at his side. The carved fir trees and the hand-painted elements complete the scene.
Fans of animated scenes will also be delighted by the woodcutter of a light wood chalet, who raises his axe with each melody.
