Description
The Hönes 400/3 ED cuckoo clock combines a traditional carved decoration with an original animation: two birds swing at the edge of the nest and feed the chicks. The mechanical 1-day movement accompanies each call of the cuckoo.
A 1-day movement
This Hönes cuckoo clock has a Regula movement that runs on weights and requires daily winding by pulling the chains. The cuckoo calls once on every half hour and counts the hours on every full hour. A lever allows the call to be switched off manually during the night.
Birds around the nest
The carved façade is decorated with four large leaves in relief, on which white edelweiss with green foliage are hand-painted. A large bird with outspread wings sits atop the case. Below the dial, two moving birds face each other above the nest where the chicks wait. The hand-painted wooden cuckoo comes out of its door at each call.
A classic Black Forest motif
This model follows the codes of the region's traditional carved cuckoo clocks. The edelweiss adds a flowery touch to this decoration of leaves and birds.
