Description
The Engstler 632/7QM cuckoo clock brings together seven carved leaves and three birds in a very fine decoration, set off by a light wood finish. Twelve melodies and a call extended by an echo accompany its 35 cm of worked wood.
The call, the echo and twelve melodies
This clock is assembled by Engstler, in the Black Forest, around a battery-powered quartz movement. Its pendulum swings on the front, beneath two decorative pine cone-shaped weights.
Every hour, the doors open, the cuckoo comes out and calls the number of hours, extended by the echo of the forest. A melody then takes over, different from one hour to the next. The volume can be adjusted, and a photoelectric cell switches off the chime as soon as the room darkens.
Three birds in a light setting
Seven leaves in relief surround the dial, hand-carved in a light wood that brings out every vein. A large bird stands at the top, two others are perched on branches on either side of the dial. The painted wooden cuckoo appears behind its double doors, and the round dial shows its Roman numerals.
This seven-leaf decoration belongs to the most classic repertoire of the Black Forest. Do you prefer the gesture of daily winding? The same spirit can be found on a large carved decoration of three birds and their nest, in mechanical.
