Description
The Engstler 427QM cuckoo clock combines the charm of a rustic chalet with a sound animation that renews itself through the hours. Its musical quartz movement sounds the call of the cuckoo with an echo before playing one of the twelve tunes offered.
The hour in echo and music
Signed Engstler, a family firm established in Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest since 1952, this 30 cm cuckoo clock runs on a battery-powered musical quartz movement. On every full hour, the cuckoo calls with its echo, then one of the twelve melodies rings out, including “Kuckuckwalzer”, “Bayrischer Ländler”, “Mühle im Schwarzwald” and “Salut d'amour”.
A light sensor controls the automatic shut-off of the sounds during the night.
Two fawns at the foot of the fir trees
The decoration begins under a carved wood roof, supported by pillars cut with diamond shapes. On each side, a green fir tree frames the chalet. On the left, two fawns stand in the undergrowth, one of them seeming to graze quietly. On the right, logs are stacked near a few white stones
The dark dial displays golden Roman numerals, while the carved base ends in a saw-tooth edge. A forest scene in which every element evokes life in the undergrowth.
For an animated scene, a woodcutter raises his arm to the sound of the music on a chalet with a blue wheel.
