Description
The Engstler 410QM cuckoo clock turns every hour into a little show: the call of the cuckoo, music and an animated scene follow one another in a 25 cm chalet. A quartz movement, to enjoy every day with complete simplicity.
One hour, one melody, one scene
Made in Villingen-Schwenningen by Engstler, in the Black Forest, this chalet runs on batteries. On every full hour, the cuckoo sings, then one of the twelve melodies starts: the mill wheel begins to turn and the woodcutter raises his arm. The tunes take turns through the hours. When night falls, the clock goes quiet by itself thanks to its light sensor.
This chalet also exists at Engstler in a mechanical version: to compare, our guide helps you choose between mechanical and quartz.
A filigree chalet
The grey roof is weighted with stones; just below, planks cut with small hearts frame the upper floor. Two windows with green shutters surround the cuckoo door, others adorn the light ground-floor façade, around the large wooden dial.
On the left, a fir tree and a wooden fence surround the blue wheel; on the right, the woodcutter busies himself at his chopping block, near a pile of logs. Beneath the scene, the base is cut through with hearts and diamonds, hence the name “filigree” chalet.
On another Engstler chalet, it is a beer drinker who animates the scene, next to his own mill wheel.
