Description
The Engstler 4053QM cuckoo clock sings each hour with an echo, then moves on to one of its twelve melodies. A small 22 cm chalet, easy to live with day to day thanks to its quartz movement.
A cuckoo clock with echo and twelve melodies
Made by Engstler, a family firm established since 1952 in Villingen-Schwenningen, in the Black Forest, this chalet runs on three C batteries, for about a year of autonomy. On every full hour, the cuckoo sounds its call, extended by an echo, before a melody follows.
The repertoire varies from one hour to the next: traditional tunes such as “Mühle im Schwarzwald” or “Lorelei”, classical pieces by Beethoven and Elgar, and even “Clementine” or “Home Sweet Home”. At night, the clock switches off the call and the music by itself.
Our guide to musical cuckoo clocks details how the call and the melodies follow one another.
Heidi comes to the chalet
This rustic wooden chalet features figurines inspired by the Heidi series. A tender decoration, which appeals to children as well as to those nostalgic for the little girl of the alpine pastures.
At 22 cm high by 26 cm wide, it slips easily into a child's bedroom, an entrance hall or a kitchen, and makes a lovely gift idea.
Heidi was born in 1880 from the pen of the Swiss author Johanna Spyri, before the animated series made her the heroine of several generations of children.
