A 1-day, fully mechanical movement
Signed Hönes, this cuckoo clock runs on a mechanical 1-day movement, driven by two pine cone-shaped weights. It is wound each day using the chains. The cuckoo calls on the half hour and indicates the number of hours on the hour.
A lever allows the call to be switched off manually during the night, without stopping the clock from running. Everything centres on the call of the cuckoo, produced as in the past by two small bellows. It is VdS certified.
The wood left natural
The natural finish leaves the light wood without stain or paint. Five large carved leaves surround the dial, with a bird with open wings at the top. The lattice worked around the dial and the carved crosspieces in the lower part add relief without hiding the grain of the wood.
