Regular maintenance is the key to its longevity and the accuracy of its call. ## Wind regularly On a mechanical movement, wind the weights by gently pulling on the chains, never on the weights themselves. Daily winding (1-day model) or weekly winding (8-day model) ensures regular operation. ## One oil point per year Once a year, a drop of watch oil on the movement is enough to maintain the mechanism. Dust the case with a soft, dry brush, without any product or damp cloth. ## Use the night shut-off The night shut-off lever, or the night sensor on quartz models, protects the mechanism by suspending the call during the night. Properly used, it preserves the cuckoo clock for many years.
