# The mechanical movement

It runs neither on battery nor on electricity, but thanks to the force of weights that are wound regularly.

## Weight winding

The weights, carved in the shape of pine cones, slowly descend along their chains and drive the mechanism. They just need to be wound up each day (1-day model) or once a week (8-day model) for the cuckoo to keep keeping time.

## The mechanical call

Every hour, two small bellows imitate the bird's call: this is the famous "cuckoo," produced by the movement itself, without any recording. Animated models add dancers, wood sawyers, or mill wheels powered by the same movement.

## For whom?

The mechanical movement is aimed at tradition lovers who appreciate the ritual of winding and the warmth of a fully acoustic sound. A 1-day or 8-day autonomy is available depending on the model.
